No Smoking on airplanes is something that everyone is used to, that’s why heavy smokers hate flying, imagine a 12 hour flight with no smoking for someone who is used to smoke a pack a day, that’s harsh.

I am very happy with this rule, since I am an avid non-smoker, and the smell of cigarettes just pisses me off and makes me very aggressive, also I like to keep my lung as clean as possible (kinda hard when I lived in Beirut most of my life, but hey one less pollutant is one less pollutant 🙂 ) .So basically I am really thankful for all the health bureaucrats that decided that this is in the benefit for everybody on the airplane, since polution kills people!

On the other hand,  they missed another kind of pollution, which on an airplane is very bad , NOISE Pollution! Okay, they can’t do anything about noise engines, which I am not asking to since it doesn’t bother me, it just becomes part of the background as a low humming noise and its possible to sleep. But the main noise polutant on airplane are (drums rolling): BABIES! yeah BABIES! When I am standing in the queue to board the airplane I start counting the amount of kids and babies that are boarding with us, to calculate the rate of stress that’s gonna be on the airplane, specially if there are babies under the age of 3!

Everyone knows that babies ‘ ears  are very sensitive to pressure, the minute they are on the airplane they will start crying, no matter how long the flight lasts, that’s guaranteed. Parents are to blame, we do not need a crying baby for 12 hours! its not our problem that you have to travel, the other people are not really happy about your baby not letting us sleep for hours,  not only that, the stress that causes us is huge, and if you don’t really know, STRESS KILLS! yes parents you are contributing with our slow death from stress!Thank you very much!

So I propose that airlines have some flights that are babies free as much as they are smoking free, or even better, some limited flights that babies are allowed in! round all the parents with crying babies together and let them suffer the consequence and stress of their crying babies all together, maybe it would punish them enough for deciding to bring them into this overpopulated , polluted, about-to-be-flooded world.

Thanks for reading my harsh post, but I am still stressed from yesterday’s 5 hours-3 babies crying- Flight!

When young you have imaginary heroes, superman, batman, spiderman, wonderwoman or whoever was your hero when you were a kid.In your teens your idols are usually Rock stars, Actors, Actresses, or whoever you found wild enough to tickle your fantasies. But when you become an adult, other than your parents, you would have a few selective heroes that do things that you either want to do, or you aspire to become like them.

I have a few heroes like that: George Carlin(Joe Bless him), Michael Schumacher, Valentino Rossi, Jacki Chan, and Nick Sanders. If you are not into motorcycles, you probably never heard of Nick Sanders, so let me enlighten you: Nick Sanders is a motorcyclist, an adventurer, a philosopher, a writer and most importantly a great guy whom I had the honor to meet last march at the Scottish Motorcycle Show in Edinburgh, He is the current record holder for fastest globe circumnavigation on a motorcycle which he did on a Yamaha R1 in 2005 in  He made the trip in 19 days 3 hours and 25 minutes with a total mileage of 19,650.

It wasn’t his first time circumnavigating his globe(his is not a typo), in fact he is now doing his 7th one doing 55,000 miles, 45 countries in just 120 days!!! In fact he has his own blog, and even posts his videos on youtube, I highly recommend checking them out, if you care to look at the world from his perspective, and after that if you don’t have the urge to get a motorcycle and start riding then you have something wrong in you :P.

His Blog and his Youtube Channel .
